Even though it’s been quite a while since I’ve written any new songs, I still keep a folder on my computer for inspiration, little bits of text, ideas, news stories, memories, things I hear people say etc…. Several years ago I had put this news story from Jan 29, 2010 into my song folder because I thought it could become at least a part of a song… if not the main focus.
I reread the whole story again last night and remembered why it had intrigued me, it’s long for an internet news article, but it’s a strange and very good story if you haven’t seen it already (or even if you have), here it is:

In the last few years I’ve become kind of obsessed with shows like Dateline, 20/20, 48 hours, Cold Case Files etc…. I love seeing people getting caught for doing terrible things. Human nature is so strange, it’s fascinating how evil some people can be. It makes me happy when they don’t get away with it.
